Bossjob, the chat-first career platform revolutionizing professional hiring in Southeast Asia, recently introduced new features connecting users with global and remote job markets.

Under its new features, employers can now post their job openings globally on the Bossjob website by selecting the ‘International’ option and targeting specific countries where they seek top talent. This feature helps them find talent in specific countries, reducing recruitment costs and making cross-border hiring easier.

Job seekers can also navigate to the new “Remote Jobs” section on the Bossjob website, where they can explore hundreds of remote job openings spanning multiple industries, such as information technology, customer service, human resources, sales, finance, manufacturing, banking, and healthcare.

Bossjob’s latest features come at a time when the Philippines is rapidly emerging as one of the world’s top remote work hubs, with many Filipinos working for foreign employers. Over a five-year period from 2018 to 2022, the country saw a remarkable 78% growth in the number of people working remotely, followed by a 60% growth rate in 2023, based on data from ten months of the year.

Founded in 2018 by Anthony Garcia and Kiat How Quak, Bossjob aims to speed up communication between job seekers and employers through direct chat, cutting down on long waits or unanswered applications. Using advanced AI and big data, it suggests suitable candidates to employers and relevant jobs to seekers, improving matching accuracy, reducing information gaps, and making hiring more efficient.

“With our new international feature and dedicated remote jobs section, we’re not just expanding horizons, but we’re actively dismantling barriers to global employment and fostering a more inclusive, accessible job market. At Bossjob, we believe that a great career should be accessible to everyone, everywhere, and our latest features are a significant step towards making that belief a reality,” Garcia said.

Bossjob’s latest features are also a key part of its plan to expand into more global markets. Aside from the Philippines, the company currently operates in Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, intending to reach 30 million users in Southeast Asia by 2026.

Since Q3 of 2023, Bossjob has supported hybrid and remote job opportunities in industries like Information Technology, sales, and emerging web3 sectors in particular. The introduction of these flexible work options has also sparked considerable interest among job seekers, with Bossjob noting a sevenfold increase in candidates pursuing remote or hybrid work arrangements, representing approximately 32% of its over 3 million active job seekers.

“In a rapidly evolving job market, Bossjob is at the forefront of the shift towards a project-based economy in the Philippines. Our data shows not just a trend but a reflection of a deeper change in work preferences. As we continue to champion this shift, Bossjob remains committed to connecting talent with forward-thinking employers, reshaping the workforce for a more dynamic and adaptable future,” Garcia said.
