Femtech Showcase highlights women’s health innovations

Hosted by Villgro Philippines, the event aimed to promote the development and adoption of tech-enabled solutions for women's health.

The Femtech Showcase 2024, held on October 10 at the Asian Institute of Management, highlighted a diverse range of innovative solutions addressing women’s health needs. Eight leading femtech startups presented their products and services to an audience of potential investors, healthcare providers, and industry experts.

Hosted by Villgro Philippines, the event aimed to promote the development and adoption of tech-enabled solutions for women’s health. The showcase featured startups offering solutions for mental health, period care, reproductive health, and more.

Some of the notable startups included:

  • Beacon: A holistic mental health and well-being platform for parents, including support for postpartum, lactation, and parenting.
  • Eluvo: A digital and physical healthcare ecosystem for women
  • Halia: Organic, biodegradable sanitary pads
  • Hati Health: A B2B specialized women’s health platform providing quality healthcare services and solutions.
  • Lily of the Valley: Inclusive innerwear and clothing
  • Nala Woman: Safe and sustainable period care
  • Scoliosis Philippines: Accessible digital tools for individuals with scoliosis
  • Sinaya Cup: A Filipino-designed menstrual cup

Given the diverse nature of the offerings, the event was a suitable tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Mental Health Day (October 10).

A panel discussion featuring industry experts highlighted the urgent need for femtech solutions and the opportunities for growth in the sector. The panelists – Abetina Valenzuela, Managing Partner of Pulse63; Lian Vega, Chief of Staff of Kindred Health Inc.; Aiai Garcia, Chief Strategy Officer of Hati Health; and Priya Thachadi, Co-founder and CEO of Villgro Philippines discussed the challenges faced by women in accessing healthcare and the potential of technology to address these challenges.  Camille Escudero, Founder and CEO of Lily of the Valley moderated the discussion.

“The rise of Femtech stands as a testament to the progress made in recognizing and addressing women’s health needs, which historically have been underserved and overlooked,” said Priya Thachadi. “We are proud to have brought together the leading Philippine Femtech ventures, offering more inclusive, accessible, and tailored health solutions by leveraging cutting-edge technologies,”

The Femtech Showcase was presented in partnership with the Femtech Association Asia, Nüshu Network, and the Asian Institute of Management Society of Innovators
