Kaya Founders, a Philippine-based early-stage venture capital firm, has announced investments in five startups, signaling continued activity in the region’s early-stage tech sector. The investments include three new portfolio companies and two follow-on investments, reflecting Kaya’s focus on supporting tech-enabled ventures in the Philippines.
The firm, which operates two funds—the Zero to One Fund for pre-Seed startups and the Seed to Series A focused One to Ten Fund—has expanded its portfolio with investments in:
- LenderLink: A fintech company providing alternative credit data for consumer lenders.
- ProTech: An insurtech company offering device insurance in emerging markets.
- Foodoo: A B2B food industry startup streamlining supplier and buyer transactions.
- Sourcy: A B2B AI product recommendation engine (follow-on investment).
- EDGE Tutor: An online tutoring outsourcing company (follow-on investment).
Earlier this year, Kaya Founders outlined its investment themes for 2025, focusing on three key areas: AI-powered B2B platforms designed to transform major Philippine industries, tech-enabled B2C models catering to the country’s growing middle class, and embedded credit solutions aimed at empowering consumers and fueling the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises. The recent investments directly align with these strategic priorities.
“We believe in investing in the foundational rails for key industries in the Philippines, such as lending and food service,” shares Kaya Founders General Partner Ray Alimurung. “Like the Meta’s and the Amazon’s of the world have previously enabled, we see a future where new business models can be unlocked and built on top of the infrastructure and technology created by our latest portfolio companies.”
Kaya’s Founding Managing General Partner Paulo Campos emphasizes the importance of the founders: “The founders are the lifeblood of the startups we back, so much so that we deliberately chose to name our fund Kaya ‘Founders’ as a way to underscore this notion. We have full confidence that Christo Georgiev, Dimitar Manolov, Dimo Histrov, and Petya Dimitrova of LenderLink, David San Pedro and Jay Exconde of ProTech, Dan Marogy and Monchet Ibarra of Foodoo, Karl Chan of Sourcy, and Henry Motte de la Motte and Cecila Calvo-Lewis of EDGE Tutor, are the right founders to steer their respective companies to incredible heights, and we are thrilled to be partnering with each of them so early on in their journeys.”
Kaya Founders has invested in over 50 companies across various sectors, including eCommerce, financial services, healthcare, and agriculture, focusing on early-stage startups in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
