NetZero Global, a top environmental venture builder based in Singapore, and Kana Earth, creators of the leading natural capital investment platform Kana Seed, recently partnered up to launch the NetZero Natural Capital Fund. This partnership, symbolized by a Memorandum of Understanding, marks the launch of a pioneering fund that aims to transform how investors invest in and manage our planet’s resources, providing them a chance to support sustainability while seeking financial gains.
Launched in 2024 by Maharlika Carbon, an environmental markets venture operationalizing Article 6 of The Paris Agreement for the Philippines, Kana Earth provides the natural capital infrastructure to scale nature-based solutions. Natural capital encompasses the Earth’s reservoir of natural resources, such as geology, soils, air, water, and all living organisms.
Kana Earth’s tools support both the supply and demand sides of eco-friendly solutions. Kana Hub helps manage environmental projects, making them appealing to investors and buyers, while Kana Seed simplifies managing investments in natural resources and farming. Together, they encourage more investment in these crucial projects, boosting carbon capture and sustainable farming efforts.
NetZero Global develops and funds innovative solutions for climate change and environmental challenges. Committed to sustainability, the company strategically partners with organizations like Kana Earth to launch initiatives for positive environmental impact.
The NetZero Global Natural Capital Fund seeks to make a positive environmental impact by investing in projects that restore and protect natural ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, improve air and water quality, and promote effective carbon capture. These projects will involve activities like reforestation and regenerative farming while providing direct returns through biodiversity enhancement and carbon capture. Additional benefits, such as increased crop yields and reduced risk, are captured as tradable assets through Natural Capital Credits.
“Through our strategic partnership with Kana Earth and leveraging the capabilities of Kana Seed in our Article 6 Environmental Ventures with governments, we are excited to launch the NetZero Natural Capital Fund. This fund represents a significant step towards integrating natural capital into mainstream investment portfolios and highlights our commitment to fostering environmental sustainability and innovation,” said Justin Reynolds, Managing Partner of NetZero Global in an official release.
Andy Creak, CEO and Co-founder of Kana Earth, added, “Our partnership with NetZero Global and the creation of the Natural Capital Fund is a testament to our shared vision of leveraging natural capital investment as a key driver for global environmental and economic sustainability. Kana Seed is designed to enable effective management of natural capital investments, and we are thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking initiative.”
