PH women’s health platform Hati Health wins Insurtech Award at ITC Asia 2024 Singapore

Founded in 2023 by Maria Gaitanidou, Alex Gridnev, and Aiai Garcia, Hati Health is a one-stop shop for women's health and wellness.

Hati Health, a digital platform focused on women’s health in the Philippines, recently won the InsureTech Connect (ITC) Asia Awards 2024 on June 6 in Singapore. This award highlights Hati Health’s innovative work in women’s health, technology, and healthcare.

Founded in 2023 by Maria Gaitanidou, Alex Gridnev, and Aiai Garcia, Hati Health is a one-stop shop for women’s health and wellness. It includes the Hati Marketplace, which connects users with specialized health professionals, and Hati Diagnostics, which offers specialized diagnostic packages. The core feature is Hati Bot, an AI wellness assistant that provides evidence-based health services and peer-reviewed information through a user-friendly chat interface for personalized consultations and symptom checking anytime, anywhere.

After earning the spot to represent the Philippines, Gaitanidou presented Hati Health alongside six other insurtech start-ups from India, Japan, and Thailand. This was in front of a group of veteran investors, insurtech experts, and industry insiders. The Hati Health team presented its unique model and value as an insurance and HMO-enabler, and employer benefits platform for specialized women’s care, earning it the honor being the regional winner of the awards.

The Hati Health team also highlighted a personalized approach to healthcare and insurance solutions, noting that it works with insurance companies and employers to promote women’s health through on-demand products and services. These include telehealth, symptom checking, holistic wellness plans, and education.

A key innovation is the AI-powered Hati chatbot, which offers personalized wellness recommendations, an interactive experience for tips and advice, and matches users with experienced doctors on the platform.

Hati Health aims to make health and wellness services more accessible and affordable for women by advocating for targeted and effective workplace health benefits. The platform is also available to all women, even if their employer is not yet affiliated with Hati Health.

ITC Asia is the region’s largest insurance event attended by insurance industry incumbents, tech entrepreneurs, and investors. By winning the organization’s Insurtech award, Hati Health becomes part of ITC Asia’s growing network and industry of innovation, technology, and healthcare. Previous winners include agriculture and dairy risk management company Weather Risk Management Services and its AI-enabled parametric insurance platform for emerging economies.

With women overall paying $15.4 billion more than men on out-of-pocket medical expenses, Hati Health continues its mission to empower women’s health through cutting-edge technology and innovative healthcare solutions.

Note: Aiai Garcia, mentioned in this article as a co-founder of Hati Health, is also part owner of The Independent Investor.
