Shell LiveWire Philippines 2025 Program opens for applications, building on past success

The program aims to support and accelerate local businesses, particularly those with solutions in the energy, environment, circular economy, and community development sectors.

Shell Philippines has launched the Shell LiveWire Philippines 2025 program, inviting Filipino entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas to apply. The program aims to support and accelerate local businesses, particularly those with solutions in the energy, environment, circular economy, and community development sectors.

Shell LiveWire is Shell’s enterprise development initiative, designed to identify and nurture businesses with potential for growth, community impact, and economic contribution. It also seeks to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperative enterprises, associations, or organizations led by women, out-of-school youth, vulnerable groups, and community-driven initiatives. This includes agri-enterprises employing sustainable practices and technologies to enhance agricultural productivity.

Since its inception in 2020, the Shell LiveWire Program has received applications from over 800 local startups. More than 130 of these enterprises have received training, mentorship, and capital funding, leading to the creation of over 800 jobs. Additionally, over 14 local startups have been integrated into Shell’s supply chain.

The program’s impact was highlighted last year, when Bacolod-based biofuel startup Green Solution.Ph won P1 million in equity-free funding at the Shell LiveWIRE 2024 Final Pitch Day on October 10, 2024. Green Solution.Ph aims to establish a biofuel production facility in the country, transforming community waste into biodiesel.

Ian Fred Solas, CEO of Green Solution.Ph, stated, “The main problem of the country is electricity and landfill waste, not knowing how to convert it into waste to energy. That’s why we partner with LGUs, eliminating the piling of waste in the landfill, providing a low-cost biofuel, and limiting the presence of all the plastic waste.”

Other finalists in the 2024 program included GAIA Builders & Trading Corporation, which focuses on improving building energy efficiency through passive cooling solutions, and Saltric, a manufacturer of hydroelectric turbines designed to harness energy from ocean tides and river streams for off-grid communities.

Interested entrepreneurs can submit applications through the official Shell Philippines LiveWire website by May 31, 2025.
