Asia’s largest and most influential tech event, Beyond Expo 2023, recently kicked off a three-day conference in Macau, showcasing the latest and emerging innovations in the fields of Healthcare, Sustainability, and ConsumerTech. The event, taking place from May 10-12, gathers global tech companies, tech startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry pioneers from around the world to collaborate and accelerate the future of business.

In an online briefing to global media, Beyond Expo co-founder Lu Gang explained that while this event has been running for three years, it is the first time that China has opened its doors to an international audience after the pandemic.
“We are very excited to welcome our partners and friends participating in the Expo,” said Lu Gang. “Macau is the Asian version of Las Vegas, but as an event location I believe we have better service, newer facilities, and a smaller venue that allows our visitors to explore and enjoy as many attractions and events planned in the next three days.”
Beyond Expo was created in 2019 to provide a platform and venue to showcase innovations on a much wider scale. Referencing CES in Las Vegas, an annual trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association and considered to be one of the most influential tech events in the world, Lu Gang believes Beyond Expo has much more to give.
“While CES focuses more on consumer technology, we differentiate by adding sustainability and healthcare sectors that encourage our international audience to do more business together. This way, it becomes more valuable as a global tech show” said Lu Gang.
A highlight of the opening ceremonies was a panel discussion on the implications of Asia’s growing influence as a tech investment hub. A key takeaway was that compared to the Western markets which have been the tech mecca for the past several years, Asia is expected to be the destination for innovation and investments but with a more sober approach to managing debt and government influence.
Beyond Expo features more than 500 speakers, 800+ exhibitors, and 350+ events covering a wide range of topics centered around three key themes:
1.) Healthcare: focuses on cutting-edge technologies, products, and solutions in the life sciences industry by building an international platform that integrates businesses and connects industry both upstream and downstream, investment, and academic exchanges. The innovation scope covers BioTech, MedTech & Equipment, Bio-Pharmacy, and Diagnostics and Platforms.
The Healthcare exhibition area showcases the latest tech products and solutions in life sciences and provides venues for business exchanges.
