Cebu-based startup Prezenter launches smart TV presentation app

The smart TV app, which seeks to revolutionize the way presentations are delivered, allows users, especially teachers, students, and business executives, to wirelessly stream their presentations directly to smart TVs, web-connected projectors, and LED walls.

Prezenter, a Cebu-based startup that seeks to revolutionize the way presentations are delivered, has officially launched its smart TV app in an event dubbed Prezenter Deliver 2024 in Cebu City.

The smart TV app allows users, especially teachers, students, and business executives, to wirelessly stream their presentations directly to smart TVs, web-connected projectors, and LED walls.

Prezenter was founded by Engr. Kennette Canales, a former computer science professor at the University of San Carlos. Canales said he created Prezenter to solve the problem of having to deal with a lot of gadgets when delivering presentations.

He said he experienced these issues firsthand in the classroom, where outdated presentation setups often disrupted the learning experience. His desire for a more efficient solution led him to create Prezenter, a platform that simplifies presentations and minimizes setup time.

The app eliminates the need to bring laptops, set up personal computers, borrow projectors, and deal with several cables just to make a five-minute presentation.

The application supports various formats, including Google Slides, PowerPoint, PDFs, images, and videos, making it versatile for various presentation needs. It is now available on Android, Google TV, and Samsung Smart TV platforms.

Using Prezenter is easy, Canales said. Users can upload their presentations on the platform and then stream it on smart TV. Just like watching Netflix or browsing YouTube using the television.

Canales said Prezenter is a groundbreaking development for the education sector.

He said that while most classrooms in the country are now equipped with smart TVs, many teachers are still using them as if they are regular televisions and continue to use traditional projectors when presenting.

“I believe that schools should consider the well-being of the teachers. This app aims not only to elevate or ease the presentation but also to allow them to go to school without bringing their heavy bags with laptops in it,” Canales said.

In addition to traditional presentation tools, Prezenter offers advanced digital signage solutions and smart hospitality features.

This makes it the go-to platform for managing content remotely across multiple displays, transforming events, and enhancing guest experiences in various venues, the startup said.
