IGNITE 2022 FUSION kicks off its five-day hybrid conference starting October 10 to October 14, 2022 at Fairmont/Raffles Hotel in Makati City. Now in its 6th year, IGNITE, one of the largest international innovation conferences in the country, seeks to support and connect the vibrant and flourishing startup ecosystem in the Philippines to the world.
This year’s conference theme focuses on “Innovation that drives Sustainability and Resilience” – one that resonates well with all types of business reeling from the effects of the pandemic and looking for ways to thrive in the new normal.
This international conference, organized by TechShake, dentsu X, and Brainsparks, will gather around 1000 multi-stakeholders made up of startup founders, corporations, international and local investors, as well as government representatives, accelerators, and incubators. The event’s key partners include Shell liveWire, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Visual Processing Japan (VPJ), 917Ventures, Mynavi Corporation, Security bank and f(dev).
Activities held online from October 10 to 13 will include panel discussions, breakout sessions, workshops and sessions featuring speakers from around the world. The culminating activity on October 14 will be held onsite at Fairmont/Raffles Hotel.
Here’s what to expect:
DAY ONE
The conference will kick off with the Shell LiveWIRE Accelerator program where the Top Three Startups of the program – Bambuhay, Pieza PH, and Suds Sustainable Pods – will pitch and compete for the grand prize. Focusing on businesses that drive “Social Good”, no less than Pilipinas Shell’s President and CEO Lorelie Quiambao Osial will be participating to lend support and give the closing remarks.
DAY TWO
The second day will feature workshop sessions in collaboration with 917 Ventures, Xendit, and Microsoft on the growths and pains of venture building, the digital landscape and its impact on payments, and how to build your startup on the cloud, respectively.
DAY THREE
The third day, centering around the theme of Digital Transformation, will feature startup pitches in partnership with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Ten startups to pitch include Credit Engine, Optimays, Instalimb, RevComm, Global Mobility Service Inc., Visual Alpha, Kotozna, Long Term Industrial Development, IDDK, and WorkStyleTech.
DAY FOUR
The fourth day will feature speaker sessions on the topic of Human Resources and Tech by Mynavi. There will also be a panel discussion on “The Sustainable Value of Blockchain” featuring Denise Thi, co-founder and CMO of Metain.io, a co-investment platform for NFTs and stablecoin holders, as keynote speaker.
DAY FIVE
The final day of the conference will hold two WILDFIRE pitch competitions with the first featuring international and late-stage start-ups Sribu, Credit Engine, WorkStyleTech, Optimays, Sprout Solutions, Instalimb and Metain.io. In addition, the top ten finalists for the Startup World Cup (SWC) regional competition: Agro-Digital PH, ALLCARE, Dashlabs.ai, Dealogikal, Nanotronics, Smile API, Packworks, Splitmo by 4Gives, Twala and Wela School Systems will face off in a pitch that will select the Philippine representative to the SWC Grand Finale 2023 in Silicon Valley organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures with a $1,000,000 grand prize at stake.
Networking and Business Matching
Participants will be able to experience and attend the conference online through the Brella app, which will include virtual booths for networking and business matching. By downloading Brella, online participants are able to maximize their experience by getting real-time updates of the IGNITE schedule including live sessions and meetings, match themselves with other attendees with common interest, book 1:1 meetings and chat with other attendees, access virtual booths of sponsors and exhibitors, and set a meeting in person.
