Kaya Founders Managing Partner Paulo Campos is set to join a distinguished panel at Stanford University for an engaging discourse on the burgeoning startup landscape in the Philippines. The panel discussion, titled “The Startup Ecosystem of the Philippines: Current Trends and Opportunities,” will offer valuable insights into the dynamic startup ecosystem of the Philippines.
The panel is part of Stanford University’s comprehensive course, “Entrepreneurship in Asian High-Tech Industries.” The course commenced in early April and delves into the latest entrepreneurial trends, patterns, and challenges across Asia, emphasizing their relevance to Silicon Valley and the broader U.S. entrepreneurial scene.
Featuring a lineup of guest speakers, including entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and specialists deeply entrenched in Asian entrepreneurial landscapes, the “Entrepreneurship in Asian High-Tech Industries” series provides diverse perspectives on entrepreneurship’s evolution in Asia and its global implications for innovation and business. Previous sessions have covered a range of topics, from an overview of entrepreneurship trends in Asia for 2024 to explorations of specific markets such as China, India, and South Korea. Each session has offered attendees valuable insights into emerging opportunities and challenges within the continent’s entrepreneurial ecosystems.
As the Founding Managing Partner at Kaya Founders and Founding Partner at Pulse 63 Healthcare Ventures, Campos brings a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship and venture capital to the panel. He currently leads investments in various sectors including e-commerce, digital health, and fintech. Previously, he co-founded ZALORA Philippines, a key player in the nation’s e-commerce landscape, particularly within the fashion sector. Campos will also leverage his previous consulting and managerial expertise from The Boston Consulting Group and Ayala Land, Inc.
According to Campos, the panel is both a significant milestone for Kaya Founders and an opportunity for the Philippine startup ecosystem to sell itself. “The upcoming events at Stanford are Kaya’s first events outside of the Philippines, bringing us closer to our goal of bringing Kaya to the rest of the word,” said Campos.
“What I’d like to impart to the global audience is that we are in a very specific window of opportunity, with Southeast Asia’s defining companies to built over the next 5-10 years. The Philippines is particularly the most exciting venture ecosystem in the world right now, thanks to favorable macroeconomic and demographic factors as well as thriving enabling ecosystem. Investors and aspiring founders alike should be paying attention!” he added.

Joining Campos on the “The Startup Ecosystem of the Philippines: Current Trends and Opportunities” panel are Fourth Realm VC Co-Founder and General Partner Kendrick Geluz Kho and Alquemie Ventures LLC Principal Christina Laskowski.
Kho is a first-generation Filipino immigrant and Stanford University alumnus known for his expertise in Applied AI. With Fourth Realm VC, Kho oversees a $20M+ portfolio with investments in companies like SpaceX, Universal Hydrogen, and Stoke Space. Laskowski, an experienced strategy and transformation professional, previously led VMware, Inc. and FBR Capital Markets.
