TII x Dark Wing to host events for startups

The Independent Investor is partnering with hospitality group Dark Wing, Inc., the mother company of Polilya, to champion Philippine early-stage ventures through curated events and community experiences.

Through this collaboration, the digital newsroom will see its editorial mission of highlighting the independent voices of the entrepreneurial ecosystem go offline and in-person. Audiences can expect innovative live journalism concepts designed to showcase interesting stories and bring together entrepreneurs with potential partners and investors. Working with Dark Wing, the newsroom will explore new formats for storytelling, engaging audiences in new ways, as well as offering exclusive network building opportunities.

Since its establishment in 2016, Dark Wing has focused on creating intimate spaces, designing unique concepts, and offering world-class service. In 2017, they opened famed Poblacion drinking spot Polilya as a tap room and test kitchen for their sister company Engkanto’s craft beers. Polilya would go on to become a defining landmark of Poblacion’s nightlife scene.

Dark Wing aims to continue this legacy of championing local communities as they enter the next chapter of their journey as a hospitality group, beginning with this joint effort with The Independent Investor to stage community events and shine a new kind of spotlight on homegrown ventures.
