uHoo raises US$3.7 million to advance sustainable buildings

The funds will fuel uHoo's expansion, particularly in the B2B segment, and drive the development of new hardware and software products.

uHoo, a leading provider of smart indoor environmental quality (IEQ) monitoring and management solutions, has secured US$3.7 million in funding. The round was led by Wavemaker Ventures and Menarco Development Corporation, with participation from Undivided Ventures, Raymond Rufino (CEO of Neo offices in the Philippines), Lighthouse Canton, and other existing shareholders.

The funds will fuel uHoo’s expansion, particularly in the B2B segment, and drive the development of new hardware and software products. This funding comes at a time when organizations globally are increasingly prioritizing sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, driving a growing demand for healthier, greener buildings. Businesses are recognizing the significant impact of indoor air quality (IAQ) on employee well-being, productivity, and overall health.

uHoo takes the most comprehensive approach in the market to IEQ monitoring and management, which has the potential to revolutionize how we think about building operations,” said Joel Ang, Principal at Wavemaker Ventures. “Its accurate data and appropriate actionable insights enable customers to build healthier environments and enhance sustainability commitments. These solid and meaningful benefits continually drive the organic growth of uHoo’s B2B customers, such as CapitaLand and JLL, and secure strategic deals across key markets in Asia-Pacific. We are looking forward to seeing uHoo further empower the sustainable building technology space.”

uHoo’s technology provides real-time insights into critical environmental factors, including temperature, humidity, air quality, noise, and pollutants. The flagship uHoo Aura, tracking up to 16 parameters, empowers building owners to create healthier and more comfortable indoor environments. By seamlessly integrating with building systems, uHoo optimizes HVAC controls to enhance occupant health and energy efficiency.

“We are thrilled to partner with uHoo in their mission to create healthier and more sustainable built environments,” said Carmen Jimenez Ong, founder of Menarco Development Corp. “We believe in the power of technology to harness change and enable more efficient operations. uHoo has allowed Menarco to see the invisible, pinpointing issues like ventilation problems in high-traffic areas. By leveraging its data-driven insights, we’ve achieved 8% energy savings, and uHoo also helped in renewing our WELL Gold certification and health safety rating.”

“We at Undivided Ventures are excited to support uHoo in their mission to improve indoor air quality and create healthier, more sustainable buildings,” said Ariel Shtarkman, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Undivided Ventures. “uHoo’s technology is a crucial tool in addressing the growing demand for air quality monitoring which is directly linked to productivity and wellbeing, and we believe they are well-positioned to become a leader in this rapidly growing market.”

Dustin Onghanseng, Co-founder and CEO of uHoo, said, “This funding round will not only fuel our growth but also allow us to deepen our impact on people’s health and the environment. By enabling organizations to create healthier and more sustainable spaces, we are driving real change and addressing some of the most pressing challenges of our time.”

uHoo’s client base encompasses major property developers throughout the Asia Pacific region, multinational corporations across sectors like real estate, healthcare, finance, and hospitality, as well as government entities globally.
