Recently selected to join PhilDev’s incubator program, Britana Global Solutions is readying to officially launch their no-code, full-suite, cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. For co-founder Ana Yang-Calubad, it’s the culmination of over 20 years of experience supporting businesses as a software engineer and IT consultant.

In the two decades she spent leading product development teams for various multinational tech companies, Yang-Calubad grew well-acquainted with the massive gap in quality, affordable services available to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). As an IT consultant, she noticed that SMEs dealt with a lot of problems that a modern ERP would usually be able to remedy—fragmentations in their system and inconsistencies in data, resulting in business inefficiency, higher costs, and loss in profit.

“Migrating to a modern ERP solution became critical,” Yang-Calubad said. “However, when they hear that it will cost them upward of $50,000 to implement and customize an ERP, the project becomes shelved as it is too expensive for them. It has been an ongoing dilemma for any growing small or midsized company that wants to implement an ERP solution. They need a comprehensive ERP solution to streamline their end-to-end business operations but can’t afford it.”

A full-suite ERP is the next and frequently only option for a business that has outgrown basic offerings like QuickBooks. But apart from spending on the ERP software itself, businesses would need to invest in hiring developers to implement the software, which would then take at least six months, by Yang-Calubad’s estimates. And then there are the costs for annual tech support and maintenance.

Britana Solutions’ new ERP is a no-code, cloud-based software service that aims to provide enterprise-grade features at MSMe prices.

Founded in 2017, Britana Global Solutions offers enterprise-grade software on an SME budget. Their latest product, Britana ERP is a no-code, cloud-based system that tracks and automates a businesses’ core functions and data—across sales, distribution, accounting, finance, inventory management, purchasing, and more—all housed in one integrated, subscription-based system. With easy-to-navigate dashboards and a customer web portal, it positions itself as a full-suite operating system for SMEs.  According to Yang-Calubad, the software’s simple design makes customization possible within minutes, supporting multiple currencies, languages, and even multiple branches and businesses within a single unified dashboard. “Because we are a no-code ERP, we can implement six times faster and at a fraction of the cost of other ERPs,” she said. “There is also no need for businesses to spend millions to have a third-party vendor implement or customize the software for them.”

Intelligence firm Inkwood Research estimated the Philippine market for ERP systems at roughly $102 million in 2020. Yang-Calubad hopes to carve out a larger opportunity for Britana by specifically targeting underserved SMEs.

“There are about 105,000 SMEs in the Philippines. 46% of those SMEs are in the retail and distribution business,” she said. “If we just service 1% of the total SMEs, our TAM (Total Addressable Market) will be $12 million annually. This is only in the Philippines and only 1% of the retail and distribution market. It also does not include sales of other services such as cloud storage for digital documents.”

Now in its third month of soft-launch operations, Britana ERP is poised to launch officially in the near future.
