klikit, a Singapore-based food delivery technology startup with operations in the Philippines, has announced raising $2 million in its pre-Seed funding round co-anchored by Global Founders Capital and Wavemaker Partners.
Several other investment firms and angel investors also participated in the funding round, including Sy Family Office’s Gentree Fund, AfterWork Ventures, Reshape Ventures, Nordstar, Pentas Ventures, Moving Capital, Gojek co-founder Kevin Aluwi, Nuseir Yassin of NasDaily, and more.
klikit was founded in 2021 by Christopher Withers, former vice president of Marketplaces at Gojek. He also previously launched UberEats across Asia-Pacific, according to the announcement.
The startup’s product is klikit Cloud, a proprietary B2B software-as-a-service platform that aggregates and analyses all of a restaurant’s food delivery orders on just one mobile device.
In the first seven months since its launch, klikit said it has serviced over $2.8 million in food delivery orders across 150 brands in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, as well as Taiwan and Australia.
The company has partnered with restaurants and cloud kitchens, including the Bistro Group (the Philippine franchisee of TGI Fridays, Hard Rock Cafe, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc.), Flash Coffee, MadEats (YC S21), Wildflour Cafe & Bakery, Kraver’s Canteen, Just Kitchen, the Singaporean and Philippine markets of Max’s Group Inc, and more.
klikit said it will use the fresh funding to help restaurants across Southeast Asia grow their business with more efficient food delivery and extra revenue from virtual food brands.
It is also collaborating with some of the top creators with a combined 38 million followers based in the Philippines and Australia to launch two “creator drops” with digital collectibles late this year.
“We see klikit solving widely unaddressed problems for restaurateurs everywhere, while also creating unique solutions for creators and brands to earn revenue and engage with fans in entirely new ways,” said Paul Santos, managing partner of Wavemaker Partners, the co-lead investor in klikit’s funding round.
klikit’s latest funding comes as revenue in the online food delivery segment in the Philippines is projected to hit $333.3 million this year, according to Statista. Revenue is also expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.31% to reach $496.7 million by 2027.
